WISS Early Years
Early Years

Where Curiosity Begins

The most important thing a child learns in their first years at school is not a fact. It's a feeling that means I belong here. I am capable. I can wonder.

WISS Toddler Playgroup
Ages 2.5 to 5

The framework is the IB PYP. The method is play.

WISS Early Years follows the IB PYP framework, but the method is play. Purposeful play includes outdoor learning multiple times each day. Children create and explore imaginative worlds, from businesses and hospitals to space stations.

Children move between activities of their choosing, guided by teachers who observe, document, and extend their learning.

  • Pre-Nursery from age 2.5
  • Outdoor learning multiple times each day
  • English- and Chinese-speaking teachers in the classroom
  • Consistent daily routines that build independence
Early Years

What makes the difference.

Outdoor Learning

The outdoor learning program begins in Early Years. Children spend time building dens, exploring soil, cooking in the mud kitchen and learning to manage tools. They learn to think creatively and communicate their ideas.

Purposeful Play

Children participate in active games with clear learning goals, building specific physical, cognitive, and social skills.

Confident Children

Consistent daily routines help children feel secure and become more independent. Teachers guide behaviour and support each child's unique needs with empathy, kindness and patience.

Social and Emotional Skills

Children learn how to share, take turns, and make friends. Creating safe spaces helps children understand and manage big feelings.
