WISS teacher supporting a student
Learning Support

Every Learner Has a Plan. Every Plan Has a Person Behind It.

Learning support is not a separate track for a different kind of student. It is part of how every classroom at WISS operates.

How we support

No two children learn in exactly the same way.

Some need more time. Some need a different approach. Some are navigating a new language, a new country, and a new school at the same time. Some are academically strong in every subject except one. Some have always needed a little more than a standard classroom offers.

At WISS, the 1:8 teacher-to-student ratio is the structural foundation that makes individual support genuinely possible. Teachers know their students well enough to notice early, and act before small difficulties become large ones.

  • 1:8 teacher-to-student ratio
  • Learning support specialists in class
  • Individual Learning Plans reviewed regularly
  • Assessment accommodations where a student qualifies
Learning Support

Three ways it works.

In-Class Support

Our learning support teachers work alongside classroom teachers to support the students who need them. Subject teachers and learning support specialists are constantly sharing knowledge about each child.

Individual Plans

Where a student has identified learning needs, we build an Individual Learning Plan in collaboration with class teachers and parents, reviewed regularly.

Accommodations

Some students sit their final assessments best with additional support — extra time, a reader, a separate room, assistive technology. WISS provides these accommodations for all assessments where a student qualifies.
