Language Programs

Language Learning

Students develop language skills purposefully and progressively.

Building the Language Foundation

At WISS, students from 50+ nationalities use English as their shared language every day. This naturally builds the communication skills, cultural awareness, and academic proficiency needed for a genuinely international future.

Four Language Tracks

English

English is the medium of instruction at WISS across all subjects and all year groups. Students from non-English-speaking backgrounds are supported through our EAL (English as an Additional Language) program.

Chinese

Mandarin is compulsory for all WISS students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 10. Classes are structured by proficiency level — beginner, intermediate, and native.

Third Language

From Grade 6, students choose a second language to study within the IB Language B framework. Options include French, Spanish, German, Japanese, and Korean.

Mother Tongue

We believe in protecting a child's home language. Children who maintain strong roots in their first language consistently develop stronger academic language in their additional languages.
